Stan Cole grew up on a farm in western Minnesota. He attended St. John's Luth. in Wood Lake, MN, Dr. Martin Luther High School in New Ulm, MN, and continued his preparation for the teaching ministry at Dr. Martin Luther College (predecessor of Martin Luther College). He received his degree in 1971. Mr. Cole has taken post-graduate courses at Michigan State University, University of Washington, City University, and Seattle Pacific University. He holds a Washington State Teaching Certificate for Social Studies, History, and Elementary Education.
This year Mr. Cole embarks on his 12th year of service at Evergreen and his 40th year in the teaching ministry. Previously he served at Nain Luth., Jordan Luth., and Fairview Luth. all in Milwaukee, WI, Memorial Luth. in Williamston, MI, Ocean Drive Luth. in Pompano Beach, FL, and Calvary Luth. in Bellevue, WA.
Outside of school, Mr. Cole has been blessed with a faithful wife, Carol. Together they have raised two children: Heidi who lives with her family in Wisconsin; and Jeff who lives with his family also in Wisconsin. Mr. Cole enjoys traveling, camping, working on his yard, watching baseball and football, and especially visiting his children and grandchildren.
