Quality Education

Evergreen Lutheran High School is a Christian high school located in Tacoma, Washington. We offer a nationally accredited educational program. Our athletes compete in the 1B division of schools from the state of Washington. Evergreen Lutheran High School is a part of the fourth largest private school system in America - the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS).

The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) have a rich tradition of academic excellence in its Pre-School through Grade 12 school system. The WELS and ELS have operated highly regarded schools across the United States, the Caribbean, Korea, Ukraine, Czech Republic, and the Amazon jungle of Peru, and elsewhere in the world for over 150 years. Currently, WELS and ELS churches and associations operate 407 early childhood centers, 355 elementary schools, and 26 high schools across the nation.

Both the Wisconsin and Evangelical Synods have provided excellent instructors to these schools by training its own teachers since 1884. It is gratifying to report that, on average, students attending WELS/ELS schools annually tend to outperform their peers by a considerable margin on national achievement tests. We humbly thank God for His blessings upon our schools.

Evergreen Lutheran is proud to continue this rich tradition of academic excellence in the Pacific Northwest! We are committed to offering a quality, Christ-centered education which prepares God's children to serve him now and forever. A school with an exceptional faculty-student ratio which promotes personal attention and interaction. We typically staff a 1:12 teacher to student ratio.

We are blessed with faculty & staff who seek to inspire and engage our students to master skills, to solve problems creatively, and to strive for ambitious goals.

Families come to our school for a multitude of reasons – friendships, the small school environment, convenience, sports, and others – but the best thing we provide and the real reason for our existence is our Christ-centered culture. It has been a privilege at ELHS to prepare our youth for 40 years. We pray that God will allow us to continue for many more!

Offering a well-rounded and comprehensive curriculum which engages thinking skills, creativity and faithfulness. ELHS students leave well-prepared for future ambitions such as college pursuits or vocational studies.
